Consultant Profile - Dr. RaNae Fendley

Dr. Fendley retired from the Jasper County Charter System in 2021 after serving as the Executive Director for Student Support Services for seven years.  She was previously employed as the Director of Student Services for the Newton County School System and was also employed as a Child Protective Services investigator in Nebraska, California and Georgia.  

 

Dr. Fendley offers established leadership ability, experience working in a charter system and with school governance teams, extensive knowledge in data collections, fiscal accountability, proven relationships with stakeholders and a data-driven approach to improving academic achievement while also focusing on the emotional and social needs of students.  Building relationships, organization, attention to detail and effective communication are significant contributors to my success.  Additionally, Dr. Fendley has developed strong conflict resolution skills, the ability to think quickly and I am able to perform tasks and address issues with professionalism.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE

 

Site Director Jasper Foothills (January 2021 - present).

 

Contract Services, Baldwin County Charter System (2024-2025).  Provided technical assistance for the district’s Cross Functional Monitoring in the areas of Title IX - McKinney-Vento Act and Services for students in foster care.  Served as the Baldwin Foothills Liaison coordinating educational services for students who participated in virtual learning.

 

Director of Student Support Services (Newton County Schools, October, 1993 – December, 2014; Jasper County Schools, January, 2015 - June, 2021).  Coordinate and oversee various support services for students, including school social work, school counseling, ESOL services, mental health services, nursing services, referrals to community agencies, hospital/homebound instruction, homeless referrals, student enrollment.

 

Data Collections Coordinator (1996 – 2021).  Supervise district-wide data collection for reports to GaDOE, including: FTE, Student Record Data Report, Student Class, CCPRI, Homeless, Migrant, ELL.

 

Administrator, Ombudsman Alternative Program (August, 2012 – December, 2014).  Site administrator for Newton County Ombudsman Alternative Program which served approximately 125 students.

AdvancED Evaluation Team Member (2016 – 2022).  Participated in conducting district re-certification reviews for Tazewell, VA and Gilmer County, GA.

 

Chairperson, Jasper County Local Interagency Planning Team (2016 – 2021).

 

Coordinator for Newton County Schools district-wide rezoning plan (2014).  Developed new attendance zones for 16 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 3 high schools.  Presented a comprehensive rezoning plan to stakeholders.

 

District Coordinator for Jasper County Charter System AdvancED recertification process (2017).   Assistant Coordinator for Jasper County Charter System Cognia recertification process (2021).

 

District Coordinator for Jasper County CARE grant (2015 – 2018).  

 

District Coordinator for Jasper County Charter System PBIS initiative (2015 – 2021).   

 

District Safety Coordinator for Jasper County Charter System (2016 – 2021).  Coordinate district-wide safety committee, organize ongoing district-wide safety training in cooperation with local law enforcement, review and update district safety plan, applied for and received FY 19 GSBA safety grant.

 

Executive Board Chair, Jasper County Family Connection (2017 – 2020, 2024).  

 

Hearing Officer (2016 – 2021).  Certified tribunal hearing officer in GA, served as chairperson of student tribunal hearings, conducted an annual review and update of the student code of conduct.

 

Other areas of experience:  Supervised district school nutrition staff (JCCS, 2017 – 2019), assisted in data collections for CCRPI, school nutrition, and CPI; investigated allegations of employee misconduct; reported employee violations to PSC; assisted in updating district student handbook and code of conduct
